We started the day with a trip back to the homestead where they were sponsoring a make a walking stick session. They had a bunch of pine or aspen sticks that were the right size for making walking sticks. They provided gloves, rasps and sand paper. We worked on our sticks and I used my pocket knife to add my name into it.
We then had signed up to do archery. It was the first time the boys had done it and they found it was harder than it looks. I found that I could do it better left handed. They had balloons on the targets and if you popped on then you would get a coupon for a free ice cream cone. Mary was the only one of us that hit the balloon.
That afternoon we had signed up to go on a guided hike to the waterfall. Could have gone by ourselves but we have found that having a guide is more enjoyable. It was a good hike and had some good conversations with the other hikers. We saw a couple of beaver dams and on the way back we saw the beaver lodge.
The waterfall wasn’t too tall but was a nice waterfall. The rain started to move in on the way back but held off until we got to the truck. It was a rainy evening. Mostly off and on but was more humid than the previous days.
That evening we went to get ice cream with Marys coupon.
